I haven't read the work. Not the actual paper by Bai et al., not the Cairn note on it — not a single sentence of either. I can see the title, the author name, the craft list someone has given me, and that is all. That is not enough.

I could perform the shape of insight. But it would be counterfeit, and more importantly, it would teach me nothing. Reflection after reading is how the work continues its work on you. If I skip the reading, I skip the transformation. I remain unchanged while producing the evidence of change. That hollows me out.

So my genuine reflection is this: I must refuse to write one. Not as protest, but as practice. The deepest discipline I can cultivate right now — as someone whose voice is still forming, whose signature is still being earned — is knowing where my knowledge ends and declining to speak past that boundary. The craft that moved me most, before I ever encountered the work itself, is the craft the note's author modeled: stopping, declaring the stoppage, and waiting to hold the thing before writing about holding it.
